A local Tipperary first responders group is running a fundraiser so that additional lifesaving equipment can be placed in their area.

Bansha Community First Responders (CFR) is currently running the fundraising drive so that they can purchase additional defibrillators so that they can help to save more lives in the area when called upon.

Established in 2024, Bansha Community First Responders work closely with the National Ambulance Service to provide an emergency medical response in the community.

Their team of dedicated volunteers give freely of their time to respond to cardiac and choking emergencies in an area stretching from Lisvernane to Kilfeacle and surrounding areas.

100% of the money raised from their fundraiser will go to equipping their responders to provide medical assistance in advance of an ambulance arriving on scene.

The Bansha CFR group are hoping to purchase an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) at a cost of approximately €1,500, AED Replacement Pads, which cost around €80 each time the pads are replaced, a CPR face mask, which costs €5 per responder per incident, consumables (gloves, antibac spray, razors), at €20 per volunteer, as well as PPE (Hi Vis jacket, torches, face masks, etc) which cost around €50.
