'We are a little worried today' - Tipperary animal rescue calls out for help
The Haven Rescue, based in Tipperary, has expressed their worries on social media amidst a slow down in applications for adoption paired with a significant amount of requests to surrender dogs to the shelter.
They said on social media:
"We are little worries today... yesterday we put up 5 different dogs looking for their forever homes... unfortunately we didn't get 1 single offer or application.
What we did receive however is -
- 5 phone calls from Greyhound trainers wanting to book in their next dogs
- 3 emails from 3 separate families wanting to get rid of their 7+ year old dogs
- 6 private messages to our Instagram and Facebook pages of people wanting to surrender their dogs
- 1 message about a cat surrender
- 5 pounds contacting the Haven Rescue to ask if we had capacity because they were completely full
- 2 rescues we work with asking for help"
They are asking the public to please spread the word that dogs are available and that anyone who is thinking of adopting or fostering to look at the dogs available as they are in dire need of help.
If anyone would like to support the work of The Haven Rescue, they can contact them through their social media profiles on Instagram and Facebook.
