Michael Corcoran suffered a serious knee injury in training late last week while playing an in-house game. The Silvermines clubman featured in the National Hurling League and has been a part of the panel all season.
Corcoran suffered a cruciate ligament injury in the incident that will require surgery, and will now miss Sunday's final and will also miss the club championship season as a result.
Having featured for the University of Limerick Fitzgibbon Cup team this year, Corcoran has improved with each passing year and is seen as a player for the future within the Tipp camp.
Unfortunately, he will now have to wait a bit longer to make his impact for the Premier hurlers.
