Tipperary GAA club left 'shocked' after the sudden passing of club stalwart

Philip represented Borris-Ileigh at juvenile level in his playing days and later held a number of key administrative roles, including Public Relations Officer and, most recently, Club Secretary.

He was known for his reliability, work ethic, and attention to detail, and was regarded as someone who could always be depended on to get things done.

In a statement, Borris-Ileigh GAA Club said: "Philip was the very embodiment of what it means to be a true clubman. While his official titles were significant, Philip’s contribution went far beyond them.

"His fingerprints are evident in so many aspects of the club today, a legacy that will continue to benefit our players and our wider community for years to come.”

Sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Martin and Geraldine, sister Gráinne and her partner Keelan, uncles Richard, Seamus and Billy, aunts Mary, Margaret, Josephine, Sarah, Therese, Marian and Joan, grandaunts, uncles-in-law, aunts-in-law, relatives, neighbours, and a large circle of friends.

Reposing in Kennedy's Funeral Home, Borrisoleigh (E41 VX81) on Wednesday from 5pm. to 7:30pm. Cremation service for Philip will take place on Thursday in the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Cork at 2pm.
