St Ailbe’s sisters, Doireann and Neasa Moloney, who won silver and gold at the recent County Schools Cross Country Championships in Thurles
St Ailbe’s, Tipperary Town students travelled to Thurles Crokes for the annual County Cross Country Championships. 40 students took part.
It was a fantastic day for the school’s athletes, who brought home an incredible 10 medals overall. Despite the torrential rain the day before, conditions were nonetheless very good.
Congratulations to Doireann Moloney, who had an outstanding performance in her debut race for St Ailbe’s, securing silver in the minor girls. It was a brilliant achievement and a sign of great things to come.

Continuing the family success in the junior girls race, Neasa Moloney stormed to victory and claimed gold. It was an exceptional run and a well deserved podium position.

The senior boys finished off the day in style with a great display of teamwork and determination, and battled hard to bring home the silver and bronze team medals.
Well done to all the St Ailbe’s runners across all categories who represented the school with such dedication and heart in an excellent event and exceptional venue.
