Uisce Éireann is to carry out emergency repairs at the Killurney/Templetney Treatment Plant in county Tipperary
Uisce Éireann has given notice that it will carry out emergency repair works at the Killurney/Templetney Treatment Plant in south Tipperary tomorrow (Tuesday, March 4).
The utility says that to facilitate these works, customers in Clashanisky, Lisbalting, Minorstown, Mauganstown, Butlerstown, Kylanoreashy, Ballynamona, Ballycurkeen, Figlash, Macreary, Ballyneill, Ballypatrick and the surrounding areas may experience reduced water pressure.
"In some instances, particularly in higher elevations, intermittent water outages may also occur.
"Supply interruption will occur on Tuesday, March 4, from 8 am to 7 pm," said Uisce Éireann in a statement.
Uisce Éireann Operations Manager for Tipperary, Colin Cunningham, said: "Every effort will be made to reduce the impact of these works on homes and businesses in the area. We understand the impact a supply disruption can have on customers and would like to thank the local community for their patience and cooperation during the works."
Following the works, normal supply may take three to four hours to fully restore to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.
As the water supply returns, some instances of discoloured water may be increased in the short term. For helpful tips on what to do following an outage, visit https://www.water.ie/
