Carrick-on-Suir students to donate food to families in need this Christmas

The St. Nicholas Conference of St. Vincent de Paul in Carrick-on-Suir is involving the students of local secondary and primary schools in its Christmas food appeal to help local families suffering hardship.

Last Christmas, the Conference distributed 85 hampers to local people and is inviting students to organise the collection of non-perishable goods in a common area in their schools.

Conference members will liaise with the schools and collect the donated items on a weekly basis and make up hampers to be distributed by our members before Christmas.

Examples of non-perishable food items are: tinned fruit, jams, biscuits, sugar, sauces etc. Collections will begin the week of 2nd December.
