A special evening was celebrated in St Oliver Plunkett’s National School in Clonmel when parents, staff and special guests attended the Sixth Class Graduation service, along with the presentation of the school’s annual Seán Nyhan Bursary awards.

In attendance were many staff, past and present; the Chairperson of the Board of Management, John Condon and Fr Nicholas, Parish Priest.

The evening showcased the many great talents of the students and celebrated their achievements over the past eight years.

The school was delighted to welcome Stacey Getlevog and Frances O’Connell from the TUS (Technological University of the Shannon) campus to this celebration.

During their first term in school, the Sixth Class children had the opportunity to attend the TUS campuses in Clonmel and Thurles and gained much insight into the exciting courses on offer in both.

St Oliver’s are very grateful to the Board of Management and the TUS College for Kids programme, who sponsored both bursaries. Thanks were also extended to Emer Power, daughter of the late principal Seán Nyhan, for sponsoring the trophies and medals for the bursary.

The graduates are wished every success as they move forward into the next exciting chapter of their education.

Best wishes are extended to teachers Aidan Gaughran and Emer Power, who have bid a fond farewell to St Oliver’s. The school community wishes them health and happiness on their retirement.
