BREAKING: Tipperary family left terrified after being approached by 'drunk man'

The man repeatedly asked her to open the window of her car and refused to leave her alone.

The local mother rang her partner to come back, and the man told her to "shhhh".

A local mother has described a terrifying experience after being approached by a "drunk man" while sitting in her car with her two children in Tipperary Town.

The incident happened on Saturday night as the woman and her partner were returning home.

The woman, whose post was shared on the Tipp Town community page, explained that her partner had gone to open the house door when a man from across the road came over after seeing her in the car.

The man repeatedly asked her to open the window of the car and refused to leave her alone.

She rang her partner to come back, and the man told her to "shhhh".

He only moved away when he saw her partner returning.

The woman said the ordeal was frightening.

The man is described as tall and heavy, with dark hair and a bit of a beard.

He was wearing jeans, a striped top, and a jacket.

People are encouraged to call gardaí when such incidents occur and many people have been reacting to the claims on social media.

One user said: "Ring 999 and get the incident logged."

Another added: "OMG...I have always considered this town to be very safe. Since I have a habit of walking late in the evening, I might reconsider doing it. It feels so disappointing. This world is going mad."

One user added: "Jesus Christ what is going on in this town. It’s crazy."
