RIP: Tipperary community mourns the passing of a much-loved former ICA member

Tributes have been paid following the death of much-loved woman and former ICA member Margaret Noonan.

Margaret Noonan, of Stonepark, Aherlow, Co. Tipperary, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, in the loving care of the staff at St. Martha’s Nursing Home, Bansha.

News of her passing spread quickly through the Glen community, where she was remembered as a gentle, kind-hearted woman who was deeply involved in local life. A former and much-valued member of the ICA, Margaret was known for her willingness to take part in activities, attend outings, or simply enjoy a quiet chat with friends.

Those who knew her spoke of her generosity of spirit, noting that she was always among the first to volunteer whenever help was needed in the local hall. Many described her as someone who embodied community spirit and warmth, and whose presence will be greatly missed.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, John and Joan, and her brother John. She is survived by her brother Kevin, sister Mary Breen, sister-in-law Mary, nieces, nephew, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Margaret’s remains reposed at the Chapel of Peace at Fraser’s Funeral Home, Galbally, on Thursday, January 1, followed by evening prayers. Requiem Mass took place on Friday, January 2, in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Lisvernane, with burial afterwards in the churchyard cemetery.
