Labour's Michael 'Chicken' Brennan was elected on the third count in Carrick-on-Suir LEA
First-time Labour candidate Micheal 'Chicken' Brennan became the third councillor to be elected in the Carrick-on-Suir LEA race on the second count which has just been announced at the Tipperary Count Centre in Thurles.
The 125 transfers the Killenaule man received from the distribution of Ballingarry FF Cllr Imelda Goldsboro's 390 transfers pushed him over the quota of 1,508 giving him a total vote of 1,611.
The third count in this LEA involving the distribution of Sinn Féin Cllr David Dunne's surplus will now commence.

Bourke Kieran (FF): 1,396 (+62); Brennan Michael (Lab): 1,611 (+125) (elected); Fitzgerald Mark (FG): 1,442 (+103); Murphy Martin (IFP) 310 (+11); O'Meara Kevin (IND) 1,121 (+89)
