Karen Kennedy, Thurles Sarsfields and Tipperary
Karen Kennedy enjoyed a remarkable 2024, excelling at both club and county levels.
Her form earned her an Annerville award, sponsored by Bulmers, which will be presented by the Tipperary United Sports Panel to all the award winners in the different sports at the Talbot Hotel Clonmel next Saturday night, January 25.
As captain of the Tipperary senior camogie team, she showcased outstanding leadership and skill throughout the season.
A highlight was her player of the match performance in the National League final against Galway, when she scored 1-3 from play, including one of the goals of the year. Her efforts helped Tipperary secure their first National League title in over two decades, marking a historic achievement for the county.
Her consistent brilliance continued as Tipperary advanced to the All-Ireland semi-final, with Karen excelling in every position she played, whether in defence or attack. Her versatility, determination and ability to deliver under pressure made her a constant threat to opposition teams.
Recognised for her exceptional performances, she was deservedly honoured with another All-Star award, solidifying her status as one of the top players in the game.
Karen’s dominance extended to the club scene, where she led Thurles Sarsfields and helped them to reach their first-ever senior county final.
A standout performer all year, her influence and skill were pivotal to the club’s excellent run in the championship.
