PARISH LINKS

The Parish Links held their annual Christmas party on Sunday January 8 in the NICC. It was great to see so many friendly and neighbourly faces after a gap of three years due to covid. It was also poignant and a little sad as we remember the people who have passed away since our last party.

The committee would like to thank Eileen Condon and her staff for the lovely meal; Mary O'Donnell, New Inn for supplying the excellent Christmas cake; Paddy O’Connor (Bellvue) for taking photographs of the occasion.

Eddie Golden in the band brought much enjoyment to the day and together with our own Fr Bobby and Kate O’Dwyer provided great entertainment.

Also, we had “Burgess School Irish dancers from New Inn: Sarah Flynn, Leah and Sophie Lonergan, Grace and Emily O’Dwyer who put on a lovely display. Congratulations to Stephen Boland, New Inn winner of the hamper (on display in The Shop, New Inn).

A big thank you to Michael Purcell and committee members for selling the lines of the hamper which raised much needed funds for the Parish Links.

Thanks also to the local businesses, clubs and individuals who donated spot prizes on the day too numerous to mention.
Great credit is due to all involved, especially the hard-working committee who put a great effort in year after year and thanks also to the Hall committee. A great day was had by all, with parishioners meeting up with old friends and making new ones.

Thanking everyone who attended the party and wishing everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year!
