Director of Services Economic, Community and Rural Development Brian Beck has advised community groups struggling with energy costs to apply for the Community Support Fund or CSF.

At this week’s sitting of Tipperary County Council, Mr Beck said:

“We would only be too delighted to support community groups in that.”

The CSF is a fund made available by the Department of Rural and Community Development to help community and voluntary groups with their energy costs.

Tipperary received €338,885.

According to this month’s management report, some funds have been ring-fenced for specific initiatives while the rest is available for groups.

Groups can apply for assistance with running costs or capital costs associated with repairs and efficiency projects.

The application can be made online or by submitting a paper form.

Those who need help applying can contact Tipperary County Council for more information.
