Thurles councillor apologises over remark about estate in Limerick

Thurles councillor apologises over Moyross comment

Independent Cllr Jim Ryan

Thurles councillor Jim Ryan has apologised for his remarks about an estate in Limerick.

Cllr Ryan was raising issues about a Thurles estate at last week’s sitting of Thurles/Templemore Municipal District. He compared Stradavoher Court to an estate in Limerick, sparking outrage on social media.

The Limerick Post on Tuesday quote Cllr Ryan as saying: “I apologise unreservedly. I didn’t mean to cause any hurt or any grievance to anyone.

“It was an off-the-cuff remark at a council meeting.

“It will never happen again, and I know now from over the last couple of days the great work that has been carried out in the community by the residents, committees and various organisations.”
