Thurles Musical Society's Made in Dagenham is taking the musical theatre scene by storm this week, with the much-anticipated hit show finally getting to the stage on Tuesday evening.

Three years in the making, this show has certainly been worth waiting for. With a wonderful musical score, brilliant humour, superb choreography and a chorus to die for, all ensuring that Thurles Musical Musical has lived up to its fine reputation as one of the best musical theatre groups in the country.

Denied the chance to stage this show three years ago as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Thurles ploughed on undeterred, and there was a real sense of achievement amongst the company on Tuesday when the curtain finally rose on the Ford Dagenham plant in Essex and the tale of equal pay for men and women. The landmark strikes across the UK were to prove a real game-changer in terms of women's rights, and the stance taken by the women eventually resulted in them achieving their goal.
Director Oliver Hurley was a happy man on Tuesday evening as he saw his production entertain the audience in a spectacular fashion - the reaction from the audience was incredible and has resulted in this show being the talk of the town and the region.

The good news is, even allowing for the huge interest in the show there are still plenty of tickets available, and they can be booked at GR8events.ie Tickets can also be secured at the box office on any of the nights, though it is advisable to book in advance. Tickets cost €20 for adults and €15 for children. Concessions for OAPs apply on Wednesday. Please note that the show contains colourful factory-floor language.
Thurles Musical Society has expressed its sincerest thanks to all those who have loaned props for the show, who have contributed patronage, and all those who have taken ads in the programme.

Barlo Motors are the main sponsor of the show, while the night sponsors are: Wednesday - Premier Meats and The Arch Bar; Thursday - Dew Valley and Michael's Jewellers; Friday - Larry's Bar and AIB; Saturday - Sherry Fotgerald Gleeson and Centenary Thurles. Fittingly, the Tuesday evening performance was dedicated to all those who have passed away since Thurles Musical Society last took to the stage for their annual show in 2019.

So, don't miss this chance to see a really brilliant piece of musical theatre right here in the heart of Tipperary. You will not be disappointed.
