Cllr Siobhán Ambrose has welcomed the work that is progressing on the expansion to St Patrick’s Cemetery in Clonmel.

"Following my notices of motion, 80 new grave spaces have recently been added to the cemetery, with a further 80 new graves being added after Christmas," she stated.

"In addition to the extra grave spaces, I am also delighted to have been informed that upgrade works on the new entrance to the cemetery on St Patrick’s Road (off the bypass) will also begin in the New Year.

"The proposed works to the new entrance will be very similar in appearance to the old entrance to the cemetery on the Waterford Road side.

"Clonmel is the largest town in the county, with the biggest population, and these expansion works will support the interment demands of the Clonmel area for the foreseeable future," Cllr Ambrose added.
