Uisce Éireann crews have completed repairs following a fault at the water treatment plant impacting customers in Cashel Town and surrounding areas.
While repairs are complete, it may take until later this evening for a full restoration of service. This is due to low reservoir levels and the size of the network.
Those on higher ground or at the end of the network may experience a delay.
Alternative water supplies will remain in place at St Patrick’s Hospital and Cashel Rugby Club until normal water supply has returned to all customers.
Customers are reminded to use their own clean and sanitised portable containers when taking water from the alternative water supply.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
Colin Cunningham, Water Operations Lead at Uisce Eireann, acknowledged the impact on customers.
“On behalf of Uisce Éireann, I’d like to thank customers who were impacted by his unplanned outage for their patience, cooperation, and assistance while we worked to complete the repairs as quickly as possible and regret any inconvenience caused,” said Mr Cunningham.
