First up were Eliza Rainsford (2nd Class) and Anne Gallagher (4th Class) who both won second prize in the Green Schools creative writing competition. Such a fantastic achievement for Eliza and Anne to win prizes as there were over 200 entries for the competition.
Both girls travelled to Dublin on May 16 to receive their prize.
As the competition was based on the theme of marine environment which they are working on currently with green schools, the girls got to name a whale as part of their prize.
Next up to receive their prize were the senior room. They won second prize for their creative map of Europe, this was part of the ‘Blue Star’ project that they are currently working on in school. Their map was displayed in halls of UCC on Europe Day.
