Hundreds raised to save iconic Ballingarry Copper Steeple during successful rings night and raffle
The recent fundraiser in Ballingarry in aid of saving the Copper Steeple was a great success.
The event was hosted by the Miners Rest and Siobhan O'Connell and successfully raised €628 toward the Ballingarry Copper Steeple Fund.
Ballingarry has expressed their appreciation for all those involved in the night, with a special thanks to those who gave prizes for the raffle such as Tipperary Truck Show, Paddy Graham Truck & Track & Trailer Repairs & Servicing, Amy Taylor, Laura Dunne, John Ryan Hurleys, Day Break Ballingarry, Jacqueline Ivors, Chris Lanigan, and Phil Ryan.

Another special thanks has been extended to Festy Kerwick for playing music on the night and to all who played the rings.
The fundraiser follows the calls made in May of this year for everyone in the community to get involved in raising funds to repair the Copper Steeple.
Earlier this year the Heritage Council of Ireland offered funding of €25,000 from the Community Heritage Grant Scheme towards the repair of iconic steeple. However, further fundraising is needed to reach the goal of €41,000 required for the cost of works.
