Holycross native Dan Harty gave it his best shot in the General Election and despite taking in in the region of 10,000 votes across Tipperary, Sinn Fein didn't get a candidate elected with Martin Browne narrowly missing out on a seat in Tipperary South.
“I got a lot of positive feedback on doorsteps and the party nationally did as well," Dan Harty said following the General Election.
“Obviously each constituency is different and we have some big Independents in Tipperary that polled well and the geography this time played out differently than it was in the last election.
"Overall Sinn Féin polled very well in Tipperary with Martin and I both giving it everything,” the Tipperary North election candidate said.
