A Tipperary physiotherapy clinic in Nenagh has been named Irish Sports Injury Clinic of the Year for the second year in a row.
Gold Standard Physio took home the honour at the 2025 Private Healthcare Awards, where judges praised its blend of “genuine personal care” and “smart technology” to improve patient experience.

The achievement rounds off a remarkable run for the clinic, which also received the 2025 ISCP Private Practice Award and the Private Healthcare Excellence Award earlier this year — a clean sweep of the leading accolades available to Irish Chartered Physiotherapy practices.
Founder Cian McDonnell accepted the Irish Sports Injury Clinic of the Year award at the ceremony in Dublin. In a statement on social media, the team said they were “proud to bring national honours back to Tipp”.
“We are delighted to share that last Friday at the 2025 Private Healthcare Awards in Dublin, Gold Standard Physio was named Irish Sports Injury Clinic of the Year for the second year running,” the post read.
The clinic was also among six shortlisted for the Overall Excellence Award, one of the country’s most prestigious healthcare honours. Other nominees included Optilase, The Ailesbury Clinic, The Avoca Clinic, The Seapoint Clinic, and Nua Healthcare.
Gold Standard Physio expressed gratitude to patients and supporters, writing:
“On behalf of our small, tight-knit team, a heartfelt thank you to our attendees, organisational partners and the people of Tipperary and beyond for your continued trust and support. Your belief in us makes moments like this possible and fuels our determination to elevate our service every day.”
The Private Healthcare Awards, held in partnership with The Irish Times, Amárach Research and Medforce Recruitment, recognise excellence, innovation and dedication across Ireland’s private healthcare sector.
