Tipperary gardai confirm body discovered on Sunday was that of missing teen Elisha Gault

Fourteen year old Elisha Gault whose body was recovered from the river Suir on Sunday evening.

 

Carrick on Suir is a town is mourning this morning after gardai confirmed that the body discovered in the river Suir on Sunday evening was that of missing teenager Elisha Gault.

Gardaí confirmed that the remains recovered from the river at Killowen, near Fiddown, were those of Elisha and have been transferred to University Hospital Waterford (UHW).

The Office of the State Pathologist was notified and a full post mortem examination is expected to be conducted today.

Fourteen year old Elisha had been missing since St. Patrick’s Day and a major search operation has been underway since then.

Garday have paid tribute to all those involved in the search.

Elisha’s body was spotted by an air resuce helicopter on Sunday evening.

Family and friends are comforting her grieving parents.

Elisha was a pupil at Comeragh College and former classmates are devasted at her tragic death.
