The AXA Park’s trees arrived and have been planted along the Mall walk to the Viaduct
As the Christmas approaches Cahir Tidy Towns group are tidying up loose ends and the grotto has been put away for another year.
On Monday we held our special session for local autism units in the schools of the locality. This is always a great occasion for the teachers and children to make a day out of it and feed the ducks and have their dinner locally as well as meeting the big man himself. We would like to thank all those who supported the grotto over the last two weeks and hope we added to the Christmas festivities.
Tidy Towns are still ploughing on with routine work of planting and improvements along the walks. The AXA Park’s trees arrived and have been planted along the Mall walk to the Viaduct and will be a huge feature for future generations but will have an instant impact next spring when the new leaves arrive. It is the same in the Castle Car Park where five semi mature trees have ben planted as part of the Tipperary County Council special grants project.
Work has finally commenced on the outdoor gym equipment along the Swiss walk where a mixture of disability friendly and pieces equipment for all abilities and the elderly will add to the walk. We are also working with the schools on a planting scheme with a Coill Beag project and we will have more details next week.
Last weekend we assisted with the raffle in Super Valu in aid of the Christmas lights. Every year there is a cost associated with the putting up and taking down and also the maintenance of the lights. Thanks to all those who have contributed so far and the raffle will try bridge the gap further in the running costs.
The Cahir Tidy Towns Group would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and New Year.
