County council look for public opinion as CCTV is set to be upgraded in Clonmel

Clonmel Town Centre CCTV System are to have a Public Consultation on upgrading the existing CCTV and additional CCTV in Clonmel Town.

Tipperary County Council, in conjunction with An Garda Siochana in Clonmel, propose to extend the Garda Town Centre CCTV system in Clonmel by amalgamating all public CCTV cameras in Clonmel into one single system to include the existing CCTV cameras in Elm Park, Cooleens Close & Heywood Road together with proposed new CCTV cameras in Suir Island, Abbey Street, Davis Road Car Park, Kickham Barracks and Heywood Road.

It is proposed that all CCTV cameras will be linked to a CCTV server located in Civic Offices, Emmet Street, Clonmel where the system would form part of the existing Garda Town Centre CCTV system and operate under the control of Tipperary County Council as Data Protection Officer.

Tipperary County Council is now inviting members of the public to provide their comments, views and observations on the CCTV camera locations presented. Have your say by clicking here.
