Tipperary TD Michael Lowry has announced a new candidate to join the Lowry Team for the upcoming Local Elections.

Pamela Quirke O’Meara, Killeen, Templederry is adding her name to the ballot paper in June.

Deputy Lowry says that he is thrilled that Pamela has accepted the invitation to contest the Local Elections, saying: “Pamela has the ability and the commitment to be an excellent public representative. She is in touch with the issues that matter to families and young people and the issues of significance to local communities.”

Pamela says she is honoured to take up the challenge that lies ahead and hopes to follow in the footsteps of the much respected Rocky McGrath, who recently retired from local politics.

“I will liaise closely with Rocky to continue his established record in assisting the people in the Nenagh-Newport area with their needs,” says Pamela.

“I am excited and enthusiastic about the campaign ahead and the opportunity to work with Michael Lowry and his excellent and established team.

“If elected, I am fully committed to upholding the ethos of the Lowry Team by working hard and dedicating myself to the role, and I will do all possible to respond to the needs of my community,” says Pamela.

Pamela is married to Declan and the couple have three children. She has long been an advocate for positive change for families through her role as Family Learning Coordinator.

“I am hard-working, loyal, and dedicated to my family and friends. I have a long history of helping others and it is something that I place great value on. I would love the opportunity to make a difference by representing the needs of the people in my own community.

“As a mother, I understand the daily struggles of balancing work, family and community involvement. If elected, I will fight for policies that support parents and families such as affordable childcare and family-friendly spaces in our local community.”
