Her show will feature much loved folk songs and tunes such as Wild Mountain Thyme and Sweet Sixteen as well as some contemporary songs.

Emer Dunne came to prominence last year following the release of her debut album, Hourglass produced by the renowned Bill Shanley, who works with stars such as Mary Black and Paul Brady.

After putting the album  release on hold during the pandemic, Emer finally let her voice out to the world. Her voice and album received great reviews and she is now being described as ‘a rising star’.

Emer has featured on national and regional radio around the country with RTE Radio 1 describing her  voice as ‘sublime’.

When the opportunity came to move back out to live performances again, Emer set off on the Hourglass Tour performing in various theatres around Ireland in Spring/Summer last year . The tour brought her to Donegal, Leitrim, Longford, Kerry, and Laois among other counties.

She is delighted to be part of Carrick-on-Suir's Clancy Brother’s Music & Arts Festival, which runs from Wednesday, May 31 to Monday, June 5.

‘I grew up with the Clancy Brothers music. My father would play their CDs in the car and my grandfather sang many of these great songs,” she said.

“The Clancys were wonderful performers and I love the great songs like, Willie McBride, that are embedded in our culture and tell of our history.”

It has been a busy year so far for the singer.

She  has just finished an Irish Tour with renowned folk legends, The Fureys, where she has been performing in a range of venues around the country including The Source Arts Centre, Thurles; Killarney’s Gleneagle Hotel, Birr Arts Theatre, The Riverbank in Newbridge and more.  The tour culminated  in a fantastic performance in Vicar Street in March.

Emer was delighted to hear the crowds singing along to her renditions of some of the great Irish folk songs including the much loved songs,  Grace, and  Fields of Athenry.

Vicar Street is an iconic stage and music venue in Dublin where many of the greats including Bob Dylan, Planxty, Damien Rice, The High Kings, Christy Moore and many more have performed.

After the conclusion of the  tour,  she was back on the road with her own gigs including a show at Aras Inis Gluaire in Belmullet, county Mayo.

Behind the scenes, Emer is busy working on her next shows, new recording and preparing for an  autumn tour.

She  will also be joining  the Sharon Shannon, Paul Brady and Stockton’s Wing this July at the Forest Fest Music & Arts Festival in Emo, county  Laois

So do not miss a great night of music and song in Brewery Lane with Emer Dunne on June 1.
