Meabh and Cian O’Donnell who ran for DBB AC in the Munster Juveniles Cross Country at Cooraclare last weekend
Cooraclare, Kilrush was the venue for the Munster Novice and U23 and Juvenile Even Age Cross Country, which took place on Sunday last. DBB AC had three athletes taking part in the juvenile competition.
This was described as a hilly course, not for the faint-hearted but the lovely summer sunshine was certainly a very welcome addition.
First up for DBB AC was Meabh O’Donnell, running 1000m in the U10 girls category. Meabh ran really well, finishing 39th and earning her a place on the Tipperary team that won a bronze medal. Well done Meabh and the Tipp team.
Next up was Cian O’Donnell, running 2000m in the U12 boys category. Cian placed 66th out of the 108 athletes participating in this race.
Last but not least, Aoife O’Donnell ran 3000m in the U14 girls competition and finished an amazing 16th out of 97.
It was super running from everyone.
Best wishes to our senior athletes heading to Dublin this weekend for the Dublin Marathon. Juvenile athletics continues on Monday night from 7 to 8pm in Boherlahan GAA complex. New members are always welcome.
