Tipperary agricultural college granted planning permission for two-storey classroom block
Gurteen Agricultural College has been granted planning permission by Tipperary County Council for a new two-storey classroom building comprising of six general classrooms, sanitary and ancillary facilities, external works to include new internal pedestrian campus route and related soft landscaping.
The permission also provides for the 38 existing carparking spaces to be relocated from the existing location south of the historic house to new location south of existing administrative and dormitory block in the curtilage of Gurteen House, a protected structure.
The planning permission was granted with a number of conditions.
The college at Ballingarry, Roscrea, was founded by the Methodist Church in Ireland in 1947.
The college provides training courses in agriculture and equine studies for farms and rural enterprises.
It is a charity registered in Ireland.
The farm covers 380 hectares of land.
