The County Tipperary Chamber recently hosted its second annual Careers Fair in The Dome, Thurles, on Friday, April 26th. The event, which saw a record number of attendees, proved to be a significant milestone in facilitating connections between job seekers and employers in the region.

Partnering with the Intreo Department of Social Protection, the Chamber orchestrated a dynamic platform for individuals seeking new career opportunities and businesses eager to fill vacancies.

Among the guests was John McKeon, Secretary General, whose presence underscored the gravity of the occasion. CEO Michelle Aylward echoed the sentiment, jubilantly proclaiming, 'We witnessed a historic turnout, with over 1000 individuals flocking to the event.

This resounding attendance speaks volumes about the insatiable demand for job opportunities across all sectors in Tipperary.

Indeed, the Careers Fair showcased the diverse array of job openings available in Tipperary, ranging from hospitality and healthcare to technology and manufacturing.

As Michelle Aylward emphasised, the Chamber has been attuned to the needs of its members, many of whom are actively seeking qualified staff to meet the demands of their growing businesses.

However, amidst the abundance of job opportunities lies a pressing challenge: the issue of housing and infrastructure in Tipperary.

Aylward highlighted the importance of addressing these concerns, particularly in the context of attracting and retaining skilled staff. She stressed, "An important factor in recruiting staff is the lack of housing in Tipperary, and infrastructure development, such as the N24, is crucial in addressing this challenge."

The success of the County Tipperary Chamber's second Careers Fair not only underscores the Chamber's commitment to fostering economic growth and employment opportunities but also serves as a testament to the collaborative efforts of local businesses, government agencies, and community stakeholders.

As Tipperary continues to evolve as a vibrant hub of economic activity, initiatives like the Careers Fair play a pivotal role in shaping its future trajectory and prosperity.

In conclusion, the record attendance and abundance of job opportunities showcased at the event signal a promising outlook for both job seekers and businesses alike.

With the County Tipperary Chamber at the helm, the region is poised to harness its potential and thrive in the ever-changing landscape of the modern workforce.
