The Tipperary Co-Op West Junior B Hurling Championship continued on Sunday last with three of the four quarter finals going ahead. An update on the games, format and form going into the semi finals is below.
Quarter Final 1: Defending champions Solohead booked their place in the semi-finals following a 2-14 to 2-11 victory over Lattin/Cullen in Solohead.
At half time Lattin led the way but the experienced Solohead pushed back into contention in the second half to just see off the Lattin challenge.
In their previous game the Monday before, Lattin had just seen off a strong 2nd half fightback from Cashel King Cormacs in the preliminary quarter final.
Solohead are now in the semi finals from that side of the draw and will be the favourites for the title, having overcome an intense quarter final.
Quarter Final 2: Rosegreen needed extra-time to see off Emly, 2-24 to 1-26 at Nijinsky Park Rosegreen. The story of the Rosegreen win is here: Match Report
Quarter Final 3: Eire Og Annacarty Donohill survived a second half Clonoulty/Rossmore comeback to advance to the semi-finals, 5-9 to 1-24 in Annacarty. The Match Report is here: Eire Og pip Clonoulty
Quarter Final 4: The fourth quarter final was postponed due to a bereavement and has been refixed for this Sunday September 8th at 3.30pm in Cappawhite with Cappawhite taking on Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams.
The sides will be meeting in the knockout stages for the first time since 1997 when Cappawhite came out on top. Cappawhite will be looking to reach a third semi-final in a row while Kickhams beaten in the quarter final stage by Solohead twelve months ago last reached the semi-final stage in 2022.
Semi-Finals:
The first of the semi-finals between Eire Og Annacarty Donohill and Rosegreen is fixed for this Sunday September 8th at 5.30pm in Clonoulty. Finish on the day rules will apply.
The sides will be meeting for just the second time in the knockout stages having previously met at the semi-final stage in 2004 which needed a replay before Rosegreen advanced. Eire Og will be aiming to reach a first final since 2021 while Rosegreen last reached the final in 2014.
