Tipperary’s Niamh Martin has been lighting up her name in lights with top class performances for the North Melbourne Kangaroos in recent times however the Slaibh na mBan attacking player didn't make the cut for todays release of names to play in the AFLW playoffs, however she was listed amongst the replacements.

A crowd of 3689 turned up at Ikon Park this morning for the big game against the Adelaide Crows which was won by the Kangaroos (38-31) following a tense finish. Star player Chelsea Randle was on form and played the key role in the dramatic victory.

Martin, the former Tipperary Ladies Football star, had hoped to make the line up for the qualifying final however with returnees strengthening the playing pool she was listed just outside the group.

All season the blue and gold legend from south Tipperary had played the majority of the regular season games and was in good form, scoring seven goals for the Kangaroos along the way.

She was named amongst the replacements for the game today, which was played early this morning Irish time, and will have strong hopes to feature from here on in as the 'Roos' have now secured a preliminary final berth.
