Presentation School sports stars to the fore as talent shines through

Pres Thurles TY Committee who are running Think Languages Week next week

Pres Thurles Student scores for Ireland
Huge congratulations to our 3 rd Year student, Molly Kirwan, who netted her first goal for her country last week, as the Irish soccer team defeated neighbours, Scotland, 3-1. We are very proud of you, Molly.

Shortlisted for Think Languages 2024
Our Think Languages Week will take place from Monday 18 th – Friday 22 nd November 2024 and the countdown has begun!

Our TY students will be celebrating all thedifferent languages and cultures around the world and within ur own school community. We are delighted to be shortlisted from over 200 schools for the #ThinkLanguages Champions Team Competition. We look forward to welcoming a judge from the National committee to our language and cultural celebrations. Watch this space for an update.

Junior Camogie
Congratulations to our Junior Camogie team and their coaches, Ms Casey Hennessy and Ms Aideen Bergin, on their great win over St Angela’s, Waterford. The final score was 6-17 to 0-6. #presabú

The Great TY Bake-Off
Attention all TY students! After last year’s success, the Great TY Pres Bake-Off will return again this year. Register with Ms Maura Carroll or with Ms Aideen Bergin by November 8 th to
enter the competition. We look forward to seeing all of your creations – Ready, Steady, Bake!!

Equestrian Congratulations to our TY student, Tara Moquet, who represented Pres Thurles in Holly Park in the TRI Equestrian interschools show jumping competition and placed second in the One Meter Class. Well done, Tara, we are very proud of you.


Shoebox Appeal
A huge ‘Thank You’ to the students and their teachers, Ms Edel Harding and Ms Susan King, who organised our school’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal. There was an impressive response to the appeal and all of our completed boxes were collected on Friday last. It is such a worthy cause. #presinaction

Halloween Camp
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended our camp over the Halloween midterm. Lots of fun was had with staff and students. From sports to art, dancing and baking, we hope that you all enjoyed spending time in our school and getting a taste of what our great school has to offer.

Handball
Well done to our 1 st Year student, Isabelle Murphy, who participated in the World’s Four Wall Handball Competition in singles and doubles last week. Congratulations also to the Duggan sisters, who competed in the same World Championships last week. In the school we are all very proud of all of your achievements.
