Tipperary college hurlers learn Fitzgibbon Cup groups after recent draw

The draw for the group stages of the Fitzgibbon Cup took place earlier this week, with the numerous Tipperary hurlers in situ in the third-level institutions learning their opponents.

There will be a repeat of the Fitzgibbon Cup decider in this year's group stage. Fitzgibbon Cup holders Mary Immaculate College have been drawn alongside the University of Limerick, SETU Waterford, and ATU Galway in group one of the Fitzgibbon Cup.

Mary I defeated UL in last year's Fitzgibbon Cup final. UL were recently crowned league champions last Thursday night when they got the better of DCU.

UCC, UCD, University of Galway and MTU Cork will battle it out in group two. Limerick's TUS Midwest will face DCU and and Maynooth University in group three.

The competition is expected to get underway in the middle of January. Please take a look at the groups below.

Group A: University of Limerick, SETU Waterford, ATU Galway, Mary Immaculate College Limerick.

Group B: University College Cork, University College Dublin, University of Galway, MTU Cork.

Group C: Dublin City University, TUS MidWest, Maynooth University.
