Tipperary man killed in car crash was going to friend's house at time of accident

The late Kieran McArdle, who was killed in a road traffic accident in Tipperary last Friday night

The man who was killed in a road traffic accident in Tipperary last Friday night was on his way to a friend's house when the accident occurred.

Kieran McArdle from Woodlands, Kilcash, Clonmel, died when the ride-on lawnmower he was driving was involved in a collision with a car at Kilcash Cross at approximately 9.50pm.

Mr McArdle was a popular man who was well-liked in the area, Clonmel’s Mayor Pat English has stated.

“My thoughts go out to his family and friends,” said Cllr English.

“Everyone in the area is shocked, it’s a terrible situation.

“It’s a terrible tragedy for a young man to die like that and the place is in complete shock.

“It was a terrible, tragic accident.

“He was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“I understand that Kieran McArdle was going to a friend’s house when the accident happened.”

No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
