Clonmel bridge to close for Duathlon

Crossing Sir Thomas Bridge during the St Stephen's Day Clonmel 4-miler were eventual winner Sean Tobin,Kevin Maunsell 3rd and Brian Maher 2nd.

A bridge on the outskirts of Clonmel will close for several hours to facilitate one of the town’s biggest annual sporting events, next week.

There will also be other road closures and restrictions.

Sir Thomas Bridge, at Ferryhouse, Clonmel, will close for the Clonmel Duathlon.

The closure will be on April 2, Easter Monday, between 10am and 3pm.

Local access will be facilitated for residents.

Motorists are asked to take an alternative route and be alert for athletes in the area.

The towpath from Mulcahy Park to Sir Thomas Bridge will be closed from 12pm to 2pm.

Alternative Routes 

Traffic travelling from the N24 to Tikincor area: is via Davis Road (R707), Old Waterford Road (R671) (Gas House Bridge) and along Coleville Road (R680).

Traffic travelling from Tikincor area to the N24: is via Coleville Road (R680), Old Waterford Road (R671) (Gas House Bridge) and along Davis Road (R707) onto N24.
