Pedestrian killed after being struck by car in west Clare town

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in west Clare this Thursday evening.
The collision, involving a car and a pedestrian, occurred in the Kilkee area at approximately 6.20pm.
According to gardai, the pedestrian, a man aged in his 30s, was fatally injured. No other injuries have been reported.
"The local coroner has been notified, and arrangements will now be made for a post-mortem examination," said a spokesperson who added that the road will remain closed overnight.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward and a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will be completed on Friday.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and who were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
