Town equalised just after the restart in almost identical fashion, when Sean Browne’s strike was mishandled by Celtic custodian Fabian Kerton.
Both sides then went for the win but found the defences in stubborn mood, with Celtic’s Kevin Hawkins and Ewan Rumble plus Town’s Jack Burke and Ian Healy outstanding.

Overall, it was a fiercely-contested derby where defences dominated.
A draw felt fair, although both teams will be disappointed with the nature of the goals conceded.
