CHRIS HIGGINS RETIRES

A special mention was also made after last Saturday night's Clonmel Credit Union Tipperary Cup final at Cahir Park  to Christopher Higgins, who announced his retirement after the game.

A long servant of the great St Michael’s teams of the last decade, it was only fitting that Chris would bow out the recipient of another piece of silverware to add to a large and varied collection, which also included representing his country in the sport that he loved.

The Bansha man also had the honour of captaining St Michael's to FAI Junior Cup glory in 2019 when they defeated Sheriff YC of Dublin by 1-0 in a final played in Galway on a day when the winner was scored by Willie Armshaw.

He was wished a happy retirement by everyone in Tipperary football at the end of the presentation.
