WOW! Tipperary athlete does the three-peat as Dundrum AC dominate 2 Johnnies Mini Marathon

Dymphna Ryan won the Women's 8K Mini Marathon for the third year running with a great time

There were over 400 runners, joggers, and walkers who took part in the event in Cahir on Saturday, September 20

The 3rd annual 2 Johnnies South Tipperary 8k Women’s Mini Marathon took place on Saturday, September 20 in Cahir at 5pm.

There were just over 400 runners, joggers and walkers attending, with lots of supporters and kids there to meet the 2 Johnnies.

The route had a downhill start at the Garda station, through the town and then a challenging climb out by Munster proteins, it was mainly flat with a bit of an incline up the motorway but then there was a lovely 1k downhill finish to the castle carpark.

Great credit is due to Cahir Meet & Train Fitness group, who hosted and organised the event.

There was a lovely fun atmosphere before and after the race, and the lovely, dry and sunny evening made it ideal conditions for participants and spectators.

Dundrum AC had 8 club members travel to Cahir to take part.

First home for the club and winning the race for the third year in a row was Dymphna Ryan in a super time of 28.10, she was followed by Catherine Fogarty who was in 4th place and won F45 category, in 6th place was by Emily Leahy 33.45 and was 2nd F40, next was Edel Hayes 40.47, Ruth O' Brien 48.35, Aine Hayes 52.18, Claire Ryan 53.12 and Sarah Quirke 1.02.

Congratulations and well done to all ladies who took part on the day.
