Find out about the firm that made beautiful stained glass windows for Tipperary churches

The Source Library, Thurles where the lecture will take place

A fascinating lecture about a company that made some of the most beautiful stained glass windows found in Tipperary churches will take place in The Source in Thurles next Tuesday, February 18 at 7pm.

The lecture Earley Studios Stained Glass Windows is the latest in the Tipperary People & Places Lecture series.

Earley studios of Camden Street Upper, Dublin was responsible for changing the appearance of many Catholic churches throughout Ireland between 1864 and 1975.

The company specialised in marblework, ecclesiastical decorating and stained-glass windows. The company designed and manufactured a total of forty-five windows over the years for nine Tipperary churches. The style of the windows changed as they reflected the wishes of the clergy, architects, builder and donors.

Dr Michael Earley, a member of the Earley family, will give the lecture on the work of the Earley Studios, the changes over time and the many Tipperary windows.
