Dee Morrisey
A popular Tipperary country music singer cancelled a gig on Saturday night after seeing a local councillor's snow warning on social media.
Dee Morrisey was due to play in Harney's Final Furlong on Saturday night but said: "I'm so sorry to everyone who was coming to see me gig in Harney's Final Furlong.
"I've the make up on and the jeep loaded but it's snowing heavily here now and I'm too nervous of what conditions would be like travelling home later so I've cancelled.
"Apologies to John and Siobhan and all their patrons. I look forward to seeing ye again soon. Stay safe on the roads everyone."
Dee commented on a post by Cllr John O'Heney who was coming back from a funeral in Clonoulty and warned people to stay off the roads.
Dee replied: "I’m here dressed and car loaded to head to a gig but I’m so frightened to be out on the roads."
Cllr O'Heney said: "Unless that gig is very local Dee, I would be slow to venture out in this."
And she said: "I just cancelled it. I hate to leave people down but driving a load of backroads coming home is more than my nerves or my driving skills could handle. Thanks for your post as it helped me make up my mind."
