1. IN PICTURES: Pride over prejudice in Thurles
Last Saturday, Tipperary Pride held their annual parade.
A small group marched from Thurles Town Park to Barrett's courtyard.
Other events throughout the day included a heels class and evening entertainment.
2. Tipperary County Council's Head of Finance Liam McCarthy retires
Tipperary County Council’s head of finance is retiring.
Liam McCarthy attended his last full council meeting last Monday.
Tributes poured in from across the chamber.
And Chief Executive Joe MacGrath said Mr McCarthy had been an exemplary public servant throughout his 21 years at the council.
3. Daffodil Day in Clonmel raised almost €55,000 for Irish Cancer Society
The Clonmel and District Daffodil Day Committee raised over €54,000 for the Irish Cancer Society.
The money will be used for cancer research, volunteer drivers and the nursing and counselling services.
Well done to all those involved.
4. Tipperary RNLI receives €24,000 donation following Lap the Lake fundraising cycle
This year’s Lap the lake event by Lough Derg RNLI raised €24,000.
Over 300 cyclists took part this year.
Congratulations guys.
5. New guided e-bike tour service launched in Nenagh
Speaking of Lough Derg, a new cycling tour service was launched at Nenagh Tourist Office last week.
Rob and Morag Queen started Lough Derg E-bike rentals earlier this year.
But fueled by a passion for finding local beauty spots have now expanded the service into guided tours.
