The owner of Mr Mister Menswear, Valentine O’Gorman, is no stranger to famous clients in his store.
Mr O’Gorman, who has stores in Cahir and Cashel, has recently dressed the entire Tipperary Senior Hurling team in the run up to the All-Ireland final as well as for their homecoming in Thurles, after a stellar performance saw them win the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship title in July.
Commenting on how he felt about dressing his home team, Val said: “To be honest with you, it was a privilege to be able to dress them, but it wasn’t just me it was a team effort as well, that would be the team that works with us. Mary, Pat, Mella, Mickey, Julia, and Joe.

"It was a tremendous team effort in that respect, in terms of getting stock in as soon as possible etc. It’s great to be of assistance to Liam Cahill and his crew,” says Val.
He has also recently suited and booted beloved former goal-keeper for Tipperary, Brendan Cummins. Brendan did live commentary for RTE2 during the the All Ireland Senior Hurling Final 2025 between Tipperary and Cork, and was proudly dressed by Mr Mister Menswear for the occasion.
Val says that the team at Mr Mister Menswear also assists Brendan Cummins on a regular basis. “It’s great to be involved in that respect with all of them. The GAA DNA is running through our veins, if you know what I mean.”

Asking Val about the ins and outs of taking up such a task as dressing the entire Tipperary hurling team, he explains what his staff must do to ensure things run smoothly.
“Getting the measurements correct is important as well as getting a lot of stock in, in a short period of time,” says Val. He explains that this was done quite easily as Mr Mister Menswear maintains a great relationship with the companies they order from.
“Our staff rode in with us as well. Without all these factors we wouldn’t have been able to do it. There was a trust put in us by the GAA.
“We went up to the stadium to measure the team and they facilitated that, which we’re forever thankful for,” says Val.
Wondering about the timeframe of dressing the entire team, Val explains the logistics.
“We had a couple of different fits and put them together quite quickly. The team were very fast in making decisions in what outfit they liked,” says Val.
He says it was a team effort from both Mr Mister Menswear and the Tipperary GAA team in that respect. Val explains that it wasn’t hard for the team to settle on what they wanted to wear.
“The team gave us ideas of what they wanted to wear. They sent us off photographs and we went off and sourced it. Some years or some counties, you might not have got that type of input from the players, you get somebody else picking it,” explains Val.
“But the players worked together so well, it’s a copper stamp of the team that they work together as a unit, not as individuals. It was great to be involved and see that.”
Reflecting on how he feels after dressing Tipperary’s heroes, he responded honestly saying: “It’s very humbling to be asked to do a job like that, it’s a massive privilege to be able to do it. I’d like to thank my suppliers, my staff, my own family and my fiancee Helen. There’s a lot of thanks to everyone involved,” says Val.
“This year we’re after winning some awards too. We won the overall platinum excellence award, as well as an international wedding award this year. We also won an Irish Enterprise award for 2025 for best men’s formalwear, it’s great to be acknowledged,” concludes Val.
