The closure of a section of New Street starting on Monday evening, July 7 is to facilitate the repair and replacement of water mains

Part of street in Carrick-on-Suir town centre to close nightly for 10 days

Tipperary County Council has made an order to temporarily close the R676 New Street in Carrick-on-Suir nightly from the junction with the L2707 William Street to the junction with the L6715 at Castle Street between July 7 and 18.

The closure of this section of the street to facilitate the repair and replacement of water mains including reinstatement of the roadway is scheduled to run from 7pm next Monday, July 7 until 6am on Friday, July 18.

The Council has advised all HGV’s travelling East to West, diversions will be detailed and signed along the N24 and R680 from Fiddown. The New St. Junction with N24, the alternate route will be along the N24 to Kilsheelan and back on the R680 to Dillon Bridge. 

For all HGV’s travelling from West to East, Diversions will be detailed and signed along the N24 & R680 from Kilsheelan. The New St. Junction with the N24, the alternate route will be along the N24 to Fiddown and back on the R680 to Dillon Bridge.

For local traffic, not exceeding 3.5t, the diversion route will be along the N24 Westward to North Quay and back along North Quay to Castle Lane/Callanans lane and on to Castle Street.
