RIP: Passing of well-known and much-loved Tipperary publican and restaurateur

The community of Upperchurch village, Thurles, county Tipperary, is mourning the loss of Niamh Kinnane, beloved Tábhairneoir of Kinnanes Pub and Restaurant.

Niamh passed away peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Nenagh Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Paddy Kinnane and Kathleen (née Shanahan), and her brother-in-law Jimmy Butler.

She is deeply mourned by her sister Siobhan Butler, nephew Fergal Butler, niece-in-law Eavan Fogarty, grandniece and grandnephew Maisie and Andy, and all her friends, relatives, and neighbours.

Niamh was known for her warm hospitality and her joyful, kind spirit. Her presence in the heart of Upperchurch, both in her pub Kinnanes Pub/Restaurant and in the wider community, brought comfort and laughter to countless people over the years.

The wake for Niamh is taking place at O'Dwyer's Funeral Home, Upperchurch (E41 FN34) on Wednesday, 7th January, from 5pm to 8pm. The funeral procession will arrive at the Sacred Heart Church, Upperchurch, on Thursday morning, with funeral Mass at 11.30am, followed by burial in the local cemetery.
