REVEALED: Cashel Chamber of Commerce calls open meeting to boost town centre activity

Cashel’s Chamber of Commerce has called an open meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation between businesses, community groups and residents, as part of a wider effort to revitalise the town centre.

The gathering will take place on Sunday, 15 February at 12.30pm in Halla Na Féile. Finger food will be provided and the format is intended to encourage informal and open discussion.

Organisers say Cashel functions best when businesses, clubs and community groups work together, and the meeting is open to anyone who wants to play a practical role in shaping the future of the town centre. The focus will be firmly on action rather than rhetoric.

Key priorities for discussion include increasing footfall in the town centre, supporting local businesses, creating regular activity that gives people reasons to visit Cashel, and developing a coordinated, community led approach to local initiatives.

The meeting will also outline preliminary summer plans centred on the Plaza. The Chamber is exploring the possibility of hosting live music and small community events every Saturday during June and July, between 12pm and 3pm.

An application has been submitted to Tipperary County Council for initial funding, expected to be in the region of €500 to €1,000. Cllr Declan Burgess has assisted with the grant application process.

With funding likely to be limited, organisers stress that collaboration will be essential.

The Chamber is seeking interest from musicians, singers and bands, dancers and performance groups, clubs and community organisations, volunteers willing to help animate the town centre, and businesses interested in supporting or participating in the initiative.

According to the organisers, the meeting is about ideas, cooperation and action, not politics and not discussion without purpose.

Anyone who cares about Cashel town centre and wants to help create a more active and welcoming place over the summer is encouraged to attend.

The Chamber’s message is a simple one. By working together, Cashel can bring people back into the town centre and move the town forward.
