A strong push has emerged ahead of the November Tipperary County Board meeting for the creation of a County Junior C Hurling Championship. Three clubs have submitted motions urging that the grade be formally added to the county programme.
Boherlahan Dualla proposes that a County Junior C Championship begin in 2026, arguing that divisional Junior C competitions have proven successful and now deserve county-level status.
Gortnahoe Glengoole echo this request, noting the growing number of Junior C teams and calling for the grade to be run with the same structure and integrity as Junior A and B.
Loughmore Castleiney also back a county championship and suggest that higher grade clubs should name 18 players for each team above, to ensure Junior C remains fair and competitive.
All three submissions point to rising participation and an imbalance at Junior B as key reasons for moving Junior C into the county championship calendar.
The motions will now go before delegates at the November 26th meeting, where support for a county-wide Junior C grade appears stronger than ever.
