As team members were heading off to start searching the trails, the walker was spotted making their way up to the car park, none the worse for the extended hike.
The South Eastern Mountain Rescue received a call on Thursday from An Garda Síochána to assist a pair of walkers at Baylough, The Vee.
They had become separated while walking the forest trails and the second walker was hours overdue returning to the car park. First team members were on scene at approximately 4.15pm.
Search and Rescue Dog Association (Ireland) was also tasked to assist in the search.
The team Land Rover was driving the roads beside the forest trails in case the walker had come out onto the road.
